Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the expansion XPC controllers from Livid Instruments. XPC controllers expand the possibility of control for your Livid controllers, and are hand-crafted in our Austin, TX shop.
Features
The XPC controllers allow you to add additional analog controls to your Livid control surface by connecting them to the expansion port of the Block, OhmRGB, CNTRL:R, and Brain. Using a 10 pin ribbon cable (included with your XPC purchase) the XPC controllers connect to to expansion port of your Livid Controller, or analog pin header of the Livid Brain.
XPC Naming
For simplicity we have named the XPC models according to the parts that make up the device (ex. 4K4F 4 Knobs, 4 Faders)
- F - Fader (fader/ slide potentiometer)
- K - Knob (rotary potentiometer)
- JS - Joystick
Controls and Connections
The XPC controller connects to the expansion port of your Livid controller using a standard 10 pin ribbon cable.
Connecting the Controller
- Locate the expansion port of your XPC controller.
- Using the included 10 pin ribbon cable place the connector into the XPC's expansion jack. (note that the connector and jack have a tab on it that only allows it only to be connect in one direction)
- Locate the expansion port on your Livid controller.
- Using the other end of the ribbon cable, plug the connector into the expansion jack of your Livid Controller. (note that the connector and jack have a tab on it that only allows it to be connect inserted in one direction)
Configuring the Controller
Since the XPC controller adds additional analog controls, unused analog controls need to do be grounded when not used. The dip switches on the expansion jacks of the Livid controllers allow you to enable and disable the additional analog controls. Once the controller is connected you will need to enable the controls by following these instructions.
- Locate the dip switches on the expansion port of your Livid controller.
- Using your fingertips or a small object such as a paperclip, move all of the dip switches into the up, or on position. This will enable all of the controls on the XPC controller.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE DIP SWITCHES BE PUT BACK INTO THE OFF, OR DOWN POSITION WHEN NOT USING THE XPC CONTROLLERS OR YOU WILL GET STREAMING MIDI DATA!
